Darren Hartel has been our mortgage agent since we bought our first home in Calgary in 2009. He also helped us find a better deal for our mortgage renewal in 2017.

In 2017 my wife and I decided to build a new house. Just when the house was half built I lost my job.  Darren was committed to looking for alternatives in order to ensure that we would get approved and continue to be able to finish purchasing our new home. Darren prepared and presented our paper to multiple mortgage institutions. He provided us with multiple options that were open for our choosing up to the possession day. Fortunately, l was able to go back to work just before the possession date and we took an option that was best suited to our circumstances.  

Darren is a great professional advisor who has worked tirelessly to get us the best deal as our circumstances changed, provided advice regarding what things we should address with our finances to get approved and took the time to talk us through the pros and cons of each option. I met Darren 5 years ago when he was at RBC Mortgage department. I was purchasing my first house then. When we first met to decide on mortgage, I found Darren very supportive and encouraging. Its hard to find someone who follows up on every small details and makes sure that the client understands the financial implications clearly.
